Cisco AS5x00 Universal Gateway Workshop
RRP: £1795 (plus VAT)
Duration: 3 Days
Positioning
With the changing environment from the traditional TDM-based voice networks, Service Providers and large Enterprises are looking to take advantage of the cost and efficiency savings of Packet Voice networks.
The Cisco AS5000 series of Universal Gateways provide for the efficient transition from TDM to IP-based networking by interfacing the traditional voice traffic E1s carrying both voice bearer traffic and signalling traffic (e.g. SS7, Q.931 etc), with the QoS enabled IP network. Within the IP network, VoIP media streams are established from the AS5300 series Media Gateway to the VoIP endpoint under the control of a Media Gateway Controller (e.g. Cisco PGW) using the popular Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP).
With the large number of terminating voice channels and increasing port density, the Universal Gateway becomes a vital link in the call process. Customers will benefit from effective configuration and management of this device by realising the full potential of their networking resource.
This new extensive hands-on training course uses the AS5350 model of Universal Gateway under the control of a Cisco PGW call agent to replicate the PSTN Gateway architecture prevalent in many major SP networks world-wide.
The attendees learn by doing with practical exercises aimed at understanding the deployment, management and troubleshooting aspects of the AS5x00 configured for Trunking Gateway functionality.
